  Rate of instruction and details

 

 

 

 

 

 

Course Costs include:

  • Flying instruction including instructor and school aircraft
  • 25 hours
    1. approximately 10 hours dual, depending on
      student performance
    2. 15 hours solo under instructor’s supervision
  • Theory instruction (pre and post-flight briefings)
    and Examinations in 5 subjects
    1. Navigation
    2. Engine and Air Frames
    3. Principles of flight
    4. Air Law
    5. Meteorology
  • Practical flight tests, normally done by a
    different instructor
  • SA Civil Aviation Authority License
  • Student license application to CAA
  • completed TV2/69 form
  • MISASA application form
  • MPL
  • Insurance
  • MISASA membership
  • Consultants fee (speeds up delivery of license)

You will need to supply the following:

  • 2 passport photos
  • S.A. flight medical report
  • certified copy of I.D. or passport


 


 

Course fee

Approx R20 000 per person

 

 

Additional costs:

  • Radio course and license
  • Flight medical
    1. Depending on the medical practitioner, normally about
      R600 to R800 for initial flight medical. It is recommended
      that you have your flight medical done and that you obtain
      your student license before commencing training
  • Fuel must be supplied by the student, normally between 15 and 18litres per hour, depending on your weight.

 

Purchasing a trike

 

Trygve Skorge is the Western Cape Agent for the Aquilla Trike.

Should you purchase your aircraft through him, you will benefit from the following:

 

    1. excellent after sales service
    2. free annual technically approved inspections
    3. Please inquire or further information
    4. A new trike will cost between approx
      R100 000 and R350 000.

Please note that 50% of the total course fee (R8000) is due upon commencement of training, and the balance after 10 hours have been completed. No training will take place on credit.
